Regulatory Training

The modern regulatory regime requires firms to provide appropriate training to all staff, to ensure  that they maintain a level of competence to their commensurate to their work and responsibility.

The Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) must ensure that everyone in the firm has the  relevant and appropriate knowledge and that effective training is provided on Anti‐Money  Laundering,Cybercrime, Tax Evasion, Sanctions, the Bribery Act, Data Protection, Equality and  Diversity, Accounts, Client Management and Complaints Handling.

Regulatory training must be part of the’ business’ overall training plan, which in turn is linked to its  business plan. The training should not be seen as a box ticking exercise, but rather as a positive  differentiator and an effective risk management tool.
